Ad-hoc research grants proposals must be innovative and present a novel opportunity for CIMA. The project budget should not exceed GBP 30,000 and the project must be completed within 18 months.
The adhoc process is different to our topic-led initiatives because:
- It allows researchers to put forward innovative proposals that fall outside the topic areas of CIMA’s main research initiatives.
- It provides an opportunity for researchers to put forward grant proposals outside the set timelines that the topic led initiatives demand.
Process
CIMA's ad-hoc grant process takes place in two stages:
Stage one
The applicant needs to complete a two-page application form which should provide CIMA with a project outline, proposed outputs and demonstrate how the project will be of benefit to CIMA. These can be submitted at any time throughout the year.
If an applicant’s stage 1 application is successful, the research team will be notified and the proposal will progress to the next stage.
Stage two
The applicant will be asked to complete a more comprehensive form. This form will be sent directly to the applicant by CIMA (please note that this form will not be available on the CIMA website - it will only be sent via email to applicants who have completed stage one).
Our adhoc funding initiative is currently on hold.
